Last month’s free session give away seemed to be pretty successful so I decided that we might as well try it again. This is a good thing for those who may have not been selected last month or who missed their opportunity to sign up for whatever reason. The prize is the same, I am giving away one FREE portrait session at the end of the month. The rules are the same as well. All you need to do to be entered into the contest is to leave a comment on this post. June 1 2012 will be the day of the drawing. I will pick a number at random from random.org. The number that corresponds with the number on the comment will be the winner of a FREE standard portrait session any time in 2012. Please remember that the prize is for the session fee only and does not include any prints, or digital files.

I also want to remind everyone that you DO NOT have to live in Wayne County Ohio to take part in this promotion. The giveaway includes travel within an hour of my office so Akron, Cleveland, Ashland, Holmes, and Tuscarawas county residents and all the surrounding areas are included. What can I say I like to drive.

Session is for a Standard Session only (Weddings, Seniors and Specialty shoots are NOT included in this promotion)
Session DOES NOT include any prints, products or digital files. Those can all be purchased afterwards if you choose (I promise you will not be pressured to purchase photos or products).
The session MUST take place in 2012.

April 1, 2012. When I heard the date of Emily and John’s wedding I have to admit that I thought they might be joking. Thankfully the wedding was not an elaborate April Fool’s prank. The day in fact turned out to be beautiful (it is April in Ohio so you never know what you are going to get). I first met John in college and we have been friends ever since and getting to know Emily over the past several years has been a pleasure as well. As I was discussing the details of their wedding there was one thing stood out to me. For them, celebrating with their close family and friends was theme of their wedding. The service was small and intimate, with the St. Paul Hotel in Wooster being the venue. There were two pictures that Emily requested as must have images. First, in her wedding planning she had become obsessed with umbrellas and wondered if we could work that into the photos. Second, they wanted a nice group shot of the entire wedding, guests and all. This really struck me because they were not as interested in having “traditional” photos of themselves as they were about remembering each and every person that was in attendance.

On wedding day it was sunny, really sunny (it is Ohio after all, sunny and spring don’t always go hand in hand). I started to wonder how I was going to work an umbrella into a perfectly sunny day. Then as the wedding ended out of the blue a 15 minuet shower came flying through and soaked every thing. I guess the umbrella photo was meant to be.

Thank you Emily and John for not only letting me photograph your wedding but for also letting me be a guest. I hope you enjoy.
